Waldorf Astoria Orlando has put the destination on the map for luxury travelers.  Nestled within a nature preserve and conveniently accessed from within Walt Disney World property, the resort is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of neighboring theme parks.  Cara Goldsbury, author of Luxury Guide to Disney World, calls it “stunningly impressive.”  “Swank and sophisticated,” she continued, “Waldorf Astoria has redefined local luxury in Orlando.”

The hotel infuses timeless Jazz Age-elegance from The Waldorf=Astoria in New York City, with the vibrant and modern ambiance of Florida.  It features 498 guest rooms and suites with sweeping vistas of Disney and the Bonnet Creek nature preserve.

Re-imagined versions of famed New York City restaurants include Bull & Bear restaurant and Oscar’s.  The spa offers treatments from Guerlain, the legendary Parisian fragrance house.  Golf Channel travel writer Brandon Tucker called it “an exclusive playground for the adult-minded traveler.”

Hotel near Disney Marathon

The Disney Marathon Weekend features three races that run through several theme parks.

The team at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has been working hard to become the preferred hotel for runners and spectators visiting for Walt Disney World Marathon events.  This year, we held special weekend events in January (for the original Walt Disney World Marathon) and in February for the Disney’s Princess Half Marathon weekend.

And, of course, we welcome our guests who are checking in this weekend for Disney’s Wine and Dine Marathon.

As always, we’ve got a plan prepared to pamper you during Disney race weekends!

Here is a comment we found on Racevine, a site for runners:

“OK… I’ve done this [race] three times and it’s got to hold the record for the most fun race out there! The funny thing about this year is that all I want to talk about is my hotel. This year, I actually decided to stay at a non-Disney hotel. My experience last year at Disney weren’t that good. I chose the Bonnet Creek Hilton, a new hotel that is kind of tucked away next to Caribbean Beach Hotel. Off the hook. I don’t know how to describe it. From when I checked in, the staff were so excited I was there and running. They even had a contest going where you could guess your run time in advance. The person running closest to their guess won a stay at the hotel. How cool was that? They gave me a runners welcome kit. There were picture opportunities and free massages in the lobby for runners. They had multiple carb loading dinner options. They opened their restaurants and coffee shop early for us on race morning. They had free bagels and things for us in the morning when we were headed for their free race transportation. And then – to top it off – they had a team of cheerleaders there in the lobby cheering us on! In the middle of the night! Yes, at 3am! And when I returned with my medal, the staff continued to break into spontaneous applause. Wow! So, yes, you should run this race. Disney places “wows” all through it. I get cheers around every corner practically. But I would team it with a good choice of a hotel, the Hilton Bonnet Creek. The girl at the desk said they will be doing this again. I’ll meet you there!”

We understand runners, because many of our team members are runners!  This year, for instance, General Manager Tracy Walker and Marketing Manager Yolanda Ancayan have both run.

If you are running in January, you can stay close to the action with our MARATHON FIT package.  It includes: race morning transportation, a special welcome amenity, and other special runner perks.

To book your room, visit our Disney Marathon Package page.
